HikeWare Ultra Bright LED Pocket Flashlight - 3000 Lumens

These days I find rechargeable torches are much more convenient than having to replace and dispose of depleted batteries and then having to hunt around for replacements. This HikeWare UltraBright Waterproof LED Flashlight is supplied with a rechargeable battery inside and is easily recharged using the included USB-C charging cable. The USB port has a weather resistant cover to prevent moisture and debris entering the torch.It has a good size on/off switch which is easy to locate and operate. When the torch is on, the switch is illuminated green and it shows red while charging. It also has a useful belt clip and the body of the torch is made from metal giving it a robust feel. The lens can be adjusted to focus the wide beam down to a much smaller area. On turning on it defaults to the brightest setting and each subsequent press of the switch scrolls through the brightness levels and also an SOS flash mode.Having used it on fishing trips it has been ideal and has had a few hours of use on the lower setting with the battery still providing sufficient power to operate the torch. Battery life will be dependant upon the brightness setting used but so far it has been more than sufficient for what I need it for.It is compact in size and easy to fit into a pocket or clip onto a belt. It certainly illuminates a good size area on the wide setting and the beam when narrowed easily lights distant objects. In summary a sturdy and compact rechargeable torch which is ideal for camping, hiking, fishing or any other situation where a bright, handy torch will be useful. Recommended.

I like to keep a torch around for checking the boiler, sorting things in the garden , camping holidays etc. With USB charging and a charge indicator light, this one is a steal.

This torch is powerful for its size which is just a bit shorter than a pen. You can zoom in and out with the light and irmt also has a flashing option. Handy that its rechargeable.Well priced at £11.24 at time of review

Good solid and sturdy torch. Has bright, not so bright and flash all in white. Also has a morse code red flashing button. Very quick to charge via usb and cable provided.Good buy

This model follows a fairly common pattern of 1-cell rechargeable flashlights with a zoom lens and compact construction.There seems to be some 'exciting specification competition' between makers /sellers of this type of torch but this is a user review of the particular sample I was provided to test. I found it's performance on test to be fairly typical of several such units that I've tested in the last year or two..The unit uses a quite large LED with several light emitting elements arranged in a gate/matrix pattern. I mention this as that's the blurred shape you'll notice on a white wall when zoomed to the narrowest beam on this type of LED torch.. The beam is therefore not absolutely perfect but to throw a tight spot a long way it does the job very wellPulling out to wide beam - this is a near perfect circular disk of cool white light, much wider and very uniform indeed for this price level. Between the two settings covers a huge range of uses from night hiking, breakdowns, spot light use etc.As well as the Zoom in/out it has High and Low light levels plus a strobe setting accessed with short presses of the on button during use. A slightly longer press flashes SOS in morse code.Longer presses still turn it on or off. The button contains a Green LED when operating that turns RED to give a few minutes warning of the battery running out. It similarly reports charging and charge complete state when a USB-C charging lead is plugged into the side.The battery cell is a standard 3.7V 18650 type (unlike some others with a 'sealed-in forever' battery cell).The battery is user-accessible by unscrewing the bottom as shown in the instructions - If doing this do take a moment to note the larger flat contact area on the negative end and the smaller metal contact area on the positive end that must go into the torch first. The battery bottom cap has a o-ring sealing washer and the USB charging socket has a rubber cap that together should keep it dry in a light shower/splash situation.The battery cell supplied is a typical 'free' battery for these types of torches. The blue body was not branded or marked which is also typical. On test it returned a capacity of around 1300mAh which is right in the middle of the range most of these cells deliver on test (even if any printed numbers might suggest a little more).Using the supplied cell I saw the following resultsHigh beam:Initially I'd estimate over 400lumens of light output with a recently charged battery, dropping in a few minutes to 350lumens. Steady decline to 50 lumens after 50 minutes, when the red LED came on and shut down at 60 minutes.The initial level would be great for an outdoor walk/search while 50 lumens is still quite usable for path walking or dark room/cupboard uses.Repeating the test using High Beam in 15 minute spells with a gap of 10 minutes between (during which the torch and battery could cool down) saw a total 'On time' of nearer 90 minutes which is good to know.Low beamInitially I'd estimate over 120lumens of light output with a recently charged battery, and this stayed steady around that level for around 1 hour. Steady decline to just under 100 lumens after two hours and about 30 lumens when the red LED came on at 2.5 hours and the torch shut down at a few minutes before 3 hours.The initial level and duration would be great for an outdoor footpath walk and 30lumens is still usable for dark room/cupboard uses.Strobe /SOS etc. Probably extend the above run time significantly but Not tested as I would not envisage using this modeSUMMARYAS SUPPLIED this torch is a well thought through good value package with a decent 'battery meter' and very competitive among the similar models I've tested.AFTERTHOUGHTSAs the cell is standard and also user installable/replaceable, purchasing a spare or higher capacity cell is possible.The original cell I received is an 18650, 'no pcb' type with a flat positive cap and 66mm long x 18.2mm wideI also tried one of my own stock of 'raised-pip-positive cap' cells which was 67.7mm long and this also fitted and worked as well with just a little more spring pressure needed at the start to tighten the end cap into place.A larger capacity cell would probably run brighter for longer and additional cells allow carrying enough pre-charged power for longer camping / walking trips way from other power sources

Lovely tactical torch that is rechargeable and very bright. Has two brightness settings, a flashing mode and a SOS morse code flashing for emergencies. Comes with charging cable. Nice compact size. Love it.

Powerful mini torch, great price for what it is. It seems good quality for it's size and it works well with different size options and lighting options too to suit. Great that it's rechargeable too! Good product

Oddly, the thing I like about this is its weight, I see it as a benefit, because it feels more solid, more like it can handle a decent knock and drop.So obviously this isn't the lightest torch I’ve ever held, but it is a small, compact one, it has 1 button operation, which I like, it keeps it simple and easy to use, I just “Press once” and it is switch on in “High mode”, then I press it again and it goes to the “Lower” light setting, once again and it is on “Strobe”, then again and it switches “Off”. It also has an “SOS” function which I can actuate by turning it “On”, then holding the button and it switches to the standard “SOS morse code” flash.Something I like is when I switch it on the button illuminates Green(see pic 7), and then when it is charging the button illuminates “Red”, so I know it needs to stay charging.The belt clip feels strong, and I like the fact that I can take it off if I want to.The “Zoom in Spotlight” function is nice too, it is easy to use, the top portion slides easily and I can operate it using one hand which is nice.All in all this feel very solid, with a decent weight to it.

Very bright, the recharge option is perfect as I use it all the time as a lorry driver!The only one negative is the supplied battery is not that great, isn’t works but didn’t last as long as you’d imagine. When fully charged it’s nice and bright but don’t last.The torch itself perfect, do yourself a favour and get a higher quality battery.

Just what I wanted. Given as part of a birthday present.

This is quite a good torch and helpful to keep around in the house or in a car if you're out at night often. The size is relatively small, so it's easy to carry around and not being too heavy is good as well.LED light, so no real heat from it, which again, helps with carrying, especially after switching it off and need to place for storage.USB rechargeable is always a great feature so there's no need to buy batteries, which is quite costly over time.I only claim the brightness to be OK because it's not bad for relatively small and close up areas, but in larger areas, the brightness is lacking and doesn't light up quite as well as you might want it to. The light can be seen from quite far away, but for the user, you want to be able to light up an area and see what's in front.No mention of battery capacity, and after using it for a while, it lasts a decent amount of time, but not super long.£11.24 at the time of review isn't bad and this is quite decent to have.

I'm increasingly appreciating torches with built-in chargers like this one has. While I often take the battery out and use my better charger, it's nice to be able to top these up with just a cable and a USB supply of any sort. Otherwise, pretty standard zoomie, though it seems there were fewer modes than others I've got (not that I find myself using strobe all that often). Seems rugged enough, but haven't tried it in any wet areas. But is probably would be a good glove box torch.

Did not expect this torch to be such good quality as a great price!It is super bright, easy to use, fits in hand well and has multiple easy to understand functions.Will be buying more as a great gift for family.

This 2000 lumen torch is brilliant it's made very well and I think it's a definitely a bargain to have it's very easy to use of course you can recharge as well just fantastic it's got little clip as well so you can clip onto your clothes or trousers or whatever it may be that you carrying around with you at the time so in that way and in that sense it's very effective and very efficient I think it's made in such a way whereby it's easy to carry around 'cause it doesn't feel too heavy it's rechargeable which is very good it last a very long time you can zoom in and you can zoom out with this as well which means that you can see very far and you can also see very close a big object as well I think it's very powerful for such a small little device to have and it's been made in such a way whereby economy voted and I would definitely recommend this constantly be 'cause of the price that you're getting it for is a bargain and a half there's obviously flash settings as well if you just click it once and wait about a minute and then you click it again it will just turn off and so but if you click it once and then click it again straight away and then again it will change in mode setting that you require to change to and so on so again it's great it's brilliant it's very well made and designed and I definitely recommend it especially for the price.

Handy pocket sized torch. Decent brightness. Battery life is proving to be very good so far.

This is a nice little good quality torch that has good functions like zoom and different brightness levels.It's a nice weight, but also not too heavy or bulky. Could easily use it in a backpack when hiking at night where you can use it to light the way or the flash function to attract help.

This flashlight has come in handy on a very windy and rainy camping trip recently, when we have had to get up in the middle of the night to get the kids to the toilet. I did however, initially get it for my husband who has to work on cars in all weathers and until all hours with his business. He has said that this is a great torch however, for his needs it is a little bulky and it is a little heavy, but as a torch for other things this is brilliant.
